Small Groups

Small groups at High Places vary in duration, content, and location. They are divided into four primary growth level environments. Some exist to deepen us, others to spark interest.

A few "staples" exist for High Places people and small group settings. These include a monthly book club, an open mic night, and a variety of studies independently designed to meet the needs of our church.

Regular and repeated staples include:

"Messy Spirituality" - a class focused on the popular Mike Yaconelli book

"Financial Peace University" - a popular curriculum developed by Dave Ramsey

"Path to Discipleship 1-3" - a High Places curriculum that takes a person from an introduction to our church to 'our core beliefs' and on to our 'core operating system' over a total of 10-12 weeks. Individuals can take advantage of one or all of the series

"When God Winks at You" - a six week study at the fun and strange ways God attempts to get our attention in the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives

"The Gospel of John" - a study of the book of John using the popular video series; great for new Christians and seasoned Christians alike

"Being Church" - a High Places developed curriculum rooted in Acts 17:28, meant to challenge both traditional and cultural definitions of what "church" is supposed to look like 

As time goes on, an increasing number of these staple groups will be established and integrated into the seasonal studies that arise based on need or inspiration. Since every member is a minister at High Places, myaybe you have something you'd like to offer? The only requirement is that it fits with High Places' core beliefs (theology) & our core operating system (philosophy of ministry). Speak to a pastor if you do!
